This itinerary is great for Spanish and French teachers who want to do a combined program and still include a family stay! This itinerary is not cost effective for smaller groups because of the transportation needed.
Ideas to customize this itinerary:
- Extend the family stay for more immersion.
- Add another city in France and/or Spain for a longer program.
- End the itinerary in Barcelona for a shorter program.
Daily Itinerary
| Day 1 | Depart for flights to Paris. Dinner & breakfast is served on overnight transatlantic flight. |
| Day 2 | Arrive Paris CDG airport. Private bus transfer to hotel. Begin visits in Paris as planned by group. This could include visits on the Île de la Cité: Notre-Dame (outside) and Sainte-Chapelle or le Quartier Latin. Prearranged welcome dinner this evening. End the evening with a stroll down the Champs-Elysées to the Arc de Triomphe. |
| Day 3 | Breakfast at hotel. Continue exploring Paris as planned by your group. Visits could include the Musée du Louvre and Montmartre (le Sacré-Coeur and la Place du Tertre). Finish the evening by climbing the steps of la Tour Eiffel and strolling along the Seine river. |
| Day 4 | Breakfast at hotel and morning visit to le Musée d’Orsay before your train to the Narbonne area. French students start family stay this evening. This is your opportunity to be immersed in the language and la vie française! Spanish students transfer to hotel for an evening in Narbonne. |
| Day 5 | Breakfast at hotel for Spanish students. Morning walking tour of the city. This afternoon, travel to Manresa, Barcelona to begin your family stay. Share in the daily life of your family and experience la vida española! |
| Days 5 - 9 | Family Stay |
| Day 9 | Au revoir to French host families and depart to Barcelona. French students check into hotel and enjoy a guided walking tour to explore the city. Spanish students spend last night with host families. |
| Day 10 | Despedidas to Spanish host families and transfer to the train station for both Spanish and French students. Take the AVE to Madrid and begin visits as planned by group in the capital; visit the Palacio Real. Prearranged dinner this evening. |
| Day 11 | Breakfast at the hotel. Continue exploring Madrid as planned by group. Visits could include Puerta del Sol, Mercado San Miguel, or the art museums Reina Sofia y Prado. Prearranged farewell dinner for your last night in Spain. |
| Day 12 | Transfer to the airport and depart for the USA with many memories! |
