Travelers are encouraged to depart with the group to avoid undue stress for the group upon arrival abroad. Travelers may depart from other airports if necessary, and every effort will be made to coordinate flights to connect with the group. Whether traveling separately or with the group, any extra costs incurred due to delayed or cancelled flights are the responsibility of the traveler.
Travelers may extend their stay and return at a later date. It is also possible to return from a different airport. Alternate return requests must be submitted in writing. For deadlines, policy, and request form, contact L&F or send e-mail to email@example.com.
Frequent Flyer Miles / Airline Passes
Frequent flyer miles cannot be applied to the cost of a group airline ticket. A participant wishing to arrange his/her own air travel using frequent flyer miles or an airline pass will not be part of the group’s airline reservation. Language & Friendship must be notified of this in writing (by e-mail or mail). For deadline and complete policy, see Airline Miles & Pass Policy.
Group airline contracts do not consistently allow accrual of frequent flier miles. Some group contracts and airfares allow zero miles and others allow limited miles, but none offer full mileage accrual.

L&F cannot be responsible for costs incurred due to flight delays or cancellations. The airline representatives on site at the airport are responsible for rebooking. Your L&F coordinator will provide support as possible. Note: If the problem is mechanical, the airline is responsible for meal vouchers (and hotel, if needed). If the problem is weather-related or beyond the airline’s control (air-traffic control strikes, volcanic ash, etc.), the airline is not obligated to be responsible for meals or lodging.
