Choice
Custom-designed programs are our forte. We work with you to plan your program—with only your students or with another school, with or without a family stay, to one country or more. Length is variable to fit your needs. Where you want support, we add it. Where you want freedom, you have it.
If custom-designing is not for you and you prefer a set-price itinerary, or if you have a small group and want to travel extensively but economically, we offer one of our most popular itineraries as a Fixed Itinerary at a set price. Please request details!
Flexibility
L&F can accommodate any size group. You choose whether to travel with your students (minimum 10 for travel alone) or whether you would like to travel with other schools. When groups are combined, the average group size is 20-30; groups of 40-50 are rare.
Personal
L&F is small enough to allow us to get to really know you and provide you with personalized service, and yet large enough to enable us to get good prices for your students through our affiliation with other travel professionals. Our extensive network of family-stay coordinators has been built on the basis of, and continues to grow through, our personal friends abroad. Each group placement is handled individually with care.
Attention
"I so appreciate all the individual attention. It makes L&F so much more than the standard travel organization."
~ Lynn Marquardt - Billings, MT
Student Study Materials: fun, educational materials which integrate language and culture; often used in the classroom even with those not travelling.
Leader Guidebook: a compilation of helpful tips and tools gathered from a wonderful group of experienced teacher/leaders over many, many years.
"Everything in the Leader Guidebook is excellent – I felt so well-prepared – thanks to all who have gone before me."
~ Harlan Fredenberg - Flathead, MT
Leader Workshop: "Informative and energizing" is how teachers describe the one-day leader workshop offered each year. Great teachers—great ideas!
Quality
"The trip was the absolute best of my career. Hotels, meals, drivers were great- you didn’t miss a thing! Our goals were accomplished beyond our expectations, both linguistically and culturally."
~ Janine Erickson - Thornton, CO
"You care a great deal about the leaders and the students. I thank you for all the things you have done to make this trip so successful."
~ Shorty Engel - Tracy, MN
Friendship
The friendships that develop between students and host families strengthen communication skills and cultural understanding and often have life-changing impact.
Friendship is the basis of our relationship with the many teachers from across the United States with whom it is our privilege to work.
Friendship is the key to our extensive network of family-stay coordinators, many of whom have been personal friends for over 25 years. L&F host families are not paid; students are not treated as boarders, but as members of a host family. Our coordinators consider you friends, just as we do.
We invite you to join our many friends—your colleagues—and allow L&F to work with you to design a travel program for your students. Experience the L&F difference!
Hosting
Some of our family-stay coordinators from France, Spain, and Switzerland send us students for short-term stays with American families. This is a wonderful cultural opportunity for students who may be unable
to travel. For students who do plan to travel, it is great preparation
for their own family stay experience!
